Alexander Troy
Alex Troy taught European history, the history of the Holocaust, and introductory investing at the Bicultural Hebrew Academy High School in Stamford, Connecticut. Prior to that Alex was the Head of School at the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, NC from 2016 until 2018. He has written a novel inspired by his time at AHA, which he hopes to publish in 2023.
Before becoming Head of School, Alex worked as a lawyer and an investor for thirty years. He started his career practicing merger and acquisition law at Skadden Arps and then moved to the investment world, where he managed portfolios at hedge funds and ran a family office. In 2014 he enrolled in St. John’s College’s Graduate Institute, where he graduated with a master’s degree in the liberal arts in 2015.
Alex is a member of the EverScholar Board of Trustees. EverScholar offers short academic programs to adult learners eager for intellectual enrichment. From 2002 through 2013, Alex was a member of the board of directors of Amistad Academy, a K-12 charter school in New Haven, CT. He served as chairman of Amistad’s board for seven years.
In addition to his MA, Alex holds a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He and his wife, Dale, have three daughters, Ariel, Abby, and Rachel. Alex and Dale live in Naples, Florida, and Wilton, Connecticut.

Let’s be honest: it was crazy spending $150 million to create the world’s only Jewish boarding school and put it in rural Georgia. Crazier still was Jeff Taylor’s belief he could save Hampton Acres Hebrew Academy, or HAHA, before it went belly up.
Jeff, a former hedge fund manager and lawyer, thinks he’s seen all the curveballs life can throw…until he takes the HAHA helm. Between the school’s evaporating bank account, the founder’s daughter, who uses smoke and mirrors to hide HAHA’s financial frailty, the rabbi who always has one more fast day to add, the school counselor who needs counseling, Jeff needs a miracle to keep HAHA afloat.
